In these countries they publish more than 300 magazines and a multitude of websites, and have realized or strive for market leading positions. Their aim is to extend their market position further, by providing their customers with relevant and desired magazines and digital media.
Project Introduction:
The task was to design an exclusive magazine on restaurant & recipes guide on different regions. Client introduces a new magazine that covered different 3 & 5 star category hotels & restaurants along food recipes of different places. The magazine was a unique idea which can carry all required information as airports, travel joints, and famous outlets. The magazine needs to be structure in such a way the tourist and local people should easily locate their favorite restaurant and can get all information about the specialty of the restaurant.
Requirement & Challenges:
- Understanding of client’s & specific target audience taste from designing aspect. The client location was Europe; the target audiences were form Europe.
- The main challenge was that the magazine needs to be European language and unless we don’t understand what the supplied text content carry the information; it was difficult to visualize the required visuals for the magazine.
- The magazine carry lots of information as guide for reader on different province, regions, 3-5 stars hotels, restaurants, introduction, recipes, hotels/restaurant’s schedule & communication details. It was very important to link all these information properly the reader can easily follow the this magazines as guide map for them
- The magazines other usage was to gift to near & dear as this was information base magazines thus it was important to keep all target ordinance in mind and keep the magazines look & feel acceptable for to all age group.
- Communications for technical information and layouts/grid to be use, briefing, feedback, etc.
- To manage internal quality checks of European language content.
- .Data transfer of large volumes.
8.Very short deadline and the magazines was supposed to launch before Christmas.
Solutions:
- With the help of our onsite team located in client region, communication became easier.
- We created certain template & design grid design for different province, approved them from client and based on that developed the entire magazines.
- Due to tight deadline in hand, the task was divided among multiple resources – region wise. It was
also easy for the development team to manage the task as well as for the client as they received the files in small parts region wise for approvals instead getting the entire magazine at one shoot.
- The team member were divided into different working shits to give the client a 24X7 support in real time scenario.
- Client normally provides hand written feedback on scanned documents. We trained the client to use the digital method as Acrobat / PDF’s for giving feedback. This helped in many ways as it was easy to understand the feedback, there were minimum/no query in the given feedback, there were no spelling error, it also saved lots of productive time and help to complete the back forth process in minimum time.
- While keeping the deadlines in mind, we planned pre-press work activities at the printer end. So we asked the client to supply us the “images in low-resolution” format. We took special care for the naming of each image as per province so it’s easy to replace them later with high resolution images. This also helps in reducing data file size while doing the data exchange as we were using images in low resolution files
